Hands-on Overseas Bride-to-be and a DIYer

I love designing and the idea of DIYng but I haven't really "done" anything. I would always want to start a project, but most likely I will get stuck in the planning stage (imagination) and will never get any further than that. Lol! I would always tell myself "madali lang yan, kayang-kaya" but will never finished a thing... And so, when my fiance and I started planning our wedding I had a lot of crazy/weird ideas that I want to DIY (because number 1, we're on a budget and those stuff are considered wants/kaartehan and number 2, I want to finally finish something from my own dugo't pawis). Good thing my fiance gives his full support, even though I know that he have doubts wether I could dedicate my time and actually finish something. Lol. He just know me too well.

Since both of us are based in Singapore, we should be hands-on and dedicated to make our dream wedding a reality. For our THEME, we decided with "GEOMETRIC" (we're both Architects by the way kaya yan ang trip namin). Searched for pegs that we want as basis to start our forever changing lists of GUESTS, ENTOURAGE, BUDGET and SUPPLIERS. We googled, searched and inquired a lot, internet is our partner (pag mabagal mag-reply out na!) More than a year from our chosen date, we have booked most of our major suppliers - Church, Venue, Photo, Video, HMUA, Flowers. Those are the suppliers that we don't feel the need to meet personally, as long as they are easy to communicate with and they have amazing portfolios, go na! Based on our experience, having the theme made it much easier for us to decide on who/which supplier to get (especially for the venue and church).

As for the DIY thing, I first designed our monogram. Followed by our Save the Date! (all from scratch)

Last week, we went for a short trip to Philippines mainly for wedding preps (we had 4 food tastings! Sarap! Will do separate entries for that). We also took the chance to personally give our Save the Dates to close relatives and members of the entourage, and I felt fulfilled (and kilig) because they liked it. I love the feeling when they compliment our work, so I decided that I will really do more for our wedding. Exciting!

Now we still have 10 more months... <3
