Singapore - the Red Dot, will forever have a special place our (me and Mr.C) heart. It's the first tattoo my passport ever had, the first major leap we took which I can say is all worth it. Almost 3 years of living in this country as an OFW is not easy, and it never gets easier. We faced a lot of challenges (even language barrier is a major challenge), adjustments, triple load of work, homesick attacks, and in the end all I can say is "sipag at tiyaga lang talaga!"
Though the concept of living away from my family is not a new thing for me for I am a probinsyana turned Manileña since my college days, it's still difficult for me and I'm sure is more difficult for Mr.C whom for the first time will leave the comforts of his home. We should learn all the chores coz everything here is damn expensive, ahhmm hello? We're living in the most expensive city in the world right? Spliting the tasks worked for us, he's in-charge of the laundry and I do the cooking (take turns with our other roomy - Tin). Cleaning assignments, doing groceries together. All adjustments made our relationship evolved and became stronger.
I must say that Singapore was good to us. Living in a relatively small but very well developed country will surely surprise you in many ways. Travels became often coz we have the means. Any hobby you want to try is accessible. We found friends that we will keep for life.

Remembering my firsts in this city would always bring smile to my face. My first bus and mrt ride with the tap card (first-world experience), my first job interview which is extra difficult because more than half of the words aren't clear to me (Singlish accent is a thing), my first day at work with only 1 Filipino colleague, my first Singdollar paycheck (pagod no more), first Indian, Chinese, Malay client, first ampaw from a satisfied client, wow, that was only few of my firsts...
Now we are counting the last, last paycheck, last selfie with our multi-racial officemates, last train ride, last teh tarik, last chicke rice...

This is it, we have to finally say goodbye. Thank you and till next time small red dot. You'll always and forever will remain in my heart together with all the memories we've shared.
